Main Ingredients:

Root ofPippali (long pepper), Nirgundi, Ashwagandha, Rasna, musta (nagar motha), root of eranda, sunthi ordry ginger, ajamoda (ajavayan), gaja pippali, parijataka and other vata-alleviating ingredients.

Therapeutic Uses:
Useful in joint pain, sciatica, all types of pains like arthritis,osteo-arthritis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, muscular & skeletal pains as well as oedema.

Mode of Administration:

Boil5-10 gms. of kwath (dry decoction) by adding 400 ml. of water, and boil it till 100 ml. remains, then strain it. To betaken on empty stomach in the morning & at bed time.

For more benefit:

Take any vayu-alleviating medicine along with thisdecoction.

For severe pain & oedema:

Use this decoction for bath & fomentation.

Method of Steam Bath with thisKvatha:
For taking steam bath, boil this medicine by adding l to 1.5 liters of water in a pressure cooker. When steam is prepared, remove theweight (whistle) & fit a rubber pipe (used for gas stove) on that place. Now steam will come out from the other side of the pipe, which shouldbe used for affected part of the body. Care should be taken & body should be protected from the direct hot water sprinkles coming out fromsteam (a piece of cloth should be tied on that side of the pipe). After taking steam, remaining water may be used for fomentation by pouringmoderate hot decoction on painful part.
If one doesnÆt want to steam the affected part, he may foment in another way. For this, boil themedicine in 3 to 4 liters of water till half of it remains. Then soak a piece of cloth in this moderately warm water, and affected part of thebodyshould be fomented with the help of this cloth.
